Introducing Mary Fecher Mixed Media art

New to art

I am 63 years old, retired from the corporate world and have been doing art for 2 years.  One pretty day I was sitting at my kitchen table writing a recipe in a blank book.  I started to doodle and things just flowed and felt right.  I got a sketch book and started sketching faces.  Then I got painting supplies, and went wild with nature.  Walking the dog I snap pretty pics.  When I discovered street diamonds (broken glass on the street) I felt like a rich women.  Normally alll the ugly trash was depressing and I thought....this is not ugly its beautiful, I can make pretty things.  Everyone can make pretty things.  Talened artists can make beautiful things.  Walking around San Francisco City College I see young people walking around in their own worlds., if only they looked around them they could see and hear birds, and realize they can make something out of nothing .
